Most sections of the system, which means about 524 miles across upstate New York, are scheduled to close at 5 p.m. Nov. 15. Erie Canal between locks 12 and 14 between Tribes Hill and Canajoharie will reopen from Sunday through Wednesday, when it's scheduled to close for the season.
