On April 30 the New York state Assembly approved the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act by a vote of 84-46. The bill would prohibit discrimination against transgender New Yorkers in the areas of housing, employment, credit and public accommodations, while expanding New York's hate crimes law to include crimes against transgender individuals.
