Cuomo issues consumer alert on phony IRS calls

Consumers should beware of phone calls and emails from individuals who claim to be from the IRS or state Department of Taxation and Finance that threaten fines or other penalties if consumers do not send money immediately, Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned in a consumer alert today.
