High wind warning in effect until 4 p.m., thousands without power

The gales of November are blowing across Western New York today. The National Weather Service is continuing its high wind warning for most of Western New York through 4 p.m. Winds today are expected to be in the 30-40 mph range, with gusts up to 55 mph.
