New York gets $75M for traffic safety projects

The money will pay for 33 projects. They include work to widen roads, install turn lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes and traffic-calming technology like rumble strips. The largest single project is a $7.8 million plan to reconfigure a .7 mile segment of Route 5S in Utica.
